Sinter plants agglomerate iron ore fines with other fine materials at high temperature, to create a product that can be used in a blast furnace called sinter, which is a small, irregular nodule of iron mixed with small amounts of other minerals.

Iron ore pellets are be used as raw material for blast furnace and produced in pellet plant . The process of pelletizing combines mixing of the raw material, forming the pellet and a thermal treatment baking the raw pellet to hard spheres.

The coke oven operation is for the coke making, and coke is used as a fuel and reducing agent for iron making. The mixing and crushing coals are charged to the coke oven, and dry distillation in oven to produce hot coke and crude COG.

A blast furnace is used for smelting to produce iron, the chemical reactions take place throughout the furnace as the material moves downward.  The end products are molted metal, slag phase and flue gases.
